The
softly lit sushi bar and dining room of Nikko offers
"sushi therapy" just when you need it. Lending its
neighborhood-bar feel to the revitalized urban
entertainment district of South End and the upscale
suburban village of Ballantyne, Nikko also offers a
first for Charlotte: a graceful and confident woman
behind the sushi bar, Joanna Nix, also the owner here.
Joanna and her staff create dozens of sparklingly fresh
sushi and sashimi offerings, including nigiri and maki
selections, and teriyaki, tempura, chirashi, and bento
dinner boxes featuring small compartments of
well-prepared delights.
Sushi specialties include the Dilworth Roll, aptly named
for South End's sister neighborhood, combining salmon,
crab, mayonnaise, cucumber, avocado, lettuce, and flying
fish roe. Nikko's excellence has been rewarded by
numerous "Best of the City" awards. |
