TRIP's Review of North Carolina Transportation Museum
The NC
Transportation Museum
features the history of North Carolina’s transportation
from the early days of Indian log canoes to trains,
planes, and automobiles.
Located at the site of what was once Southern Railway
Company’s largest steam locomotive repair facility,
today the site houses examples of a variety of forms of
transportation and related buildings, including an
authentic train depot, a 37-stall round house that
includes 25 locomotives, and a 30-minute tour on an
authentic steam locomotive. |
