TRIP's Review of The Dale Trail

Since Dale Earnhardt’s tragic death at the Daytona 500 in 2001, the Dale Trail was created to help visitors find their way around the area while they pay tribute to his life. The Dale Trail begins at Dale Earnhardt Blvd. and the Cabarrus County Visitors Center, HQ for the Dale Trail, where you can pick up brochures and maps of the area. Continuing on the trail, you’ll pass Old Earnhardt Rd. and Dale’s father grave. At the next stop you’ll visit the Earnhardt family’s neighborhood, “Idiot’s Circle,” and Dale Earnhardt Plaza, a park dedicated to his memory with a nine-foot bronze statue and granite monument. Next on the trail is the Dale Earnhardt Tribute Center and Junction Café & Grill where Dale used to eat his favorite sandwich. Curb Motorsports is next, where you can glimpse the car Dale drove in his first Winston Cup Championship. Take a spin on NC-3 and stop into Dale Earnhardt Inc. where you can browse exhibits and memorabilia and tour the showroom. End your tour with a visit to Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
